Lieutenant Colonel Ayoob Kiyof assumed the position of commander of the Golani Brigade today (Wednesday) in place of Lieutenant Colonel Adi Ganon, who served in this position for the past two years and will continue his studies.

The exchange ceremony was held on the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon, led by the commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Yiftach Norkin, and with the participation of other commanders and soldiers.

The outgoing commander addressed the families of the fallen and asked for forgiveness. "This is an opportunity to ask for forgiveness from the bereaved families, who are dearest to us all. To whom the State of Israel owes its life. Sorry that we were not able to arrive as we would have liked, as it was appropriate for us to arrive and embrace.".
