Without being seen in public, Iran's Supreme Leader issued a statement: "Today, two months after the start of the world's thugs' offensive campaign in the region and America's shameful failure, a new chapter begins in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
The Gulf states have a bright future ahead of them without the presence of the US.
Iran and the Gulf countries share a common destiny, and foreigners who bring evil have no place except in the depths of the sea. We will ensure the security of the Gulf and eliminate the enemy's abuse of the shipping lane.
