During a proactive operational activity yesterday by police officers from the Arad station in the Rotem area, in cooperation with IDF forces, a proactive blockade was placed in the hotel square in the northern Dead Sea.
During the activity, a truck was stopped for inspection. An inspection of the truck's bed revealed illegal residents of Judea and Samaria who had been removed among furniture and were on their way to work in Israeli territory.
Meanwhile, 9 illegal residents were arrested at the scene, along with the driver suspected of transporting them and their employer, and were transferred for further investigation and treatment to the Arad station, and the truck was seized.
The commander of the Arad station, Lt. Col. Sahar Shaul, said: "The Arad station police work daily to detect and thwart offenses involving the transportation of illegal residents, using operational and intelligence means. We will continue to act decisively against any party involved in this, with the aim of maintaining public safety and bringing those involved to justice.""
