MK Aryeh Deri is exploring the possibility of adding Prime Minister Yonatan Urich's advisor to Shas's next election campaign.
According to a report this evening (Thursday) by Michael Shemesh on 'Kan News', sources who were briefed on the details of the meeting claim that Deri examined the possibility of integrating, in one way or another, Orich into the Shas campaign - this against the backdrop of the ban imposed on Orich to contact Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of the investigation into the 'Kettergate' affair.
Deri and Urich confirmed the meeting, but claimed that they did not discuss labor or election issues at all.
However, the Lod District Court rejected the police appeal last Tuesday and ruled that Yonatan Urich will be able to return to work in the Likud party, but not in the Prime Minister's Office.
Jonathan Urich said: "I love and admire Shas Chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri - he is a great leader and a wonderful person. I was privileged to pray with him in the morning. We did not talk about any work because Shas does not need me.".
Maria Deri reported: "Yonatan Urich came to Shacharit prayer with Shas Chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri and was even honored with a third aliyah. After the prayer, the two spoke, and Rabbi Deri expressed his support for the difficult period he had gone through. The conversation did not discuss issues of work, service, or any issue related to the elections, either directly or indirectly.".
