MK Ayman Odeh arrived today (Saturday) to speak at a demonstration in Ness Ziona - and was forced to leave the stage due to objects being thrown at him.

Dozens crowded around his vehicle and his car window was shattered.

Odeh attempted to speak on two different occasions, but the crowd's reactions made it impossible and the MK fled the scene. MK Ofer Kassif, a member of Ayman Odeh's party, who also came to the demonstration, was also subjected to insulting chants.

This evening, the police announced that they had arrested three residents of Nes Ziona, on suspicion of involvement in the attack and damage to the MK's vehicle, after collecting evidence, including examining documentary findings and an identification procedure.

The police statement said: Rehovot police officers arrested, after collecting evidence, including examining documentary findings and an identification procedure, 3 residents of Nes Ziona on suspicion of involvement in an unusual and serious incident, in which they allegedly prevented the movement of the MK's vehicle, cursed and even smashed the windshield.

Meanwhile, police officers who were present at the scene to maintain public order arrested the suspects who were transferred for questioning at the Rehovot police station offices, while continuing to examine the documentary findings and identify and arrest additional suspects, based on the evidence.

The incident occurred against the backdrop of an attempt to oust the chairman of the Hadash faction that failed a week ago.

Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz responded: "The Israel Police must act harshly against Ayman Odeh's attackers. No matter how deep the dispute, violence is out of bounds.".

"I call on all elected officials, coalition and opposition alike, to strongly condemn this dangerous event."

Interior Minister Moshe Arbel also condemned: "I condemn and denounce the smashing of MK Ayman Odeh's car windows over the weekend. The enforcement authorities must bring the violent rioters to justice, and the entire leadership must condemn acts of violence clearly and without reservation.".
