Firefighters and volunteers from the Judea region worked this evening (Wednesday) on a fire that broke out on Darchi Ish Street in the Haredi city of Beitar Illit.
Rabbi Reshef Kobi Erez, shift commander: "A short time ago, teams from the Judea region were dispatched to a fire that broke out in an apartment in Beitar Illit. Upon arrival at the scene, we detected smoke coming from one of the apartments in the building. We immediately began operations to extinguish the fire and search for trapped people.
""Firefighters reported that the source of the fire was in a closet in the children's room, and they will investigate the suspicion that the fire broke out as a result of children playing.""
Rabbi Reshef Kobi Erez adds: "We can prevent the next fire! We will talk to the children and explain to them the danger of fire. We will keep matches and lighters out of the children's reach. And of course, we will install a smoke detector in the house!"
""The smoke detector alerts us when a fire breaks out, allowing us to escape and save our loved ones.""
