The Chief of Staff, Major General Eyal Zamir, held a discussion with the commanders of the divisions and brigades in the Northern Command.

The Chief of Staff expressed great appreciation to the commanders for the many achievements, offensive activity, initiative, and determination with which they have led the forces in recent weeks.

From the words of the Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir: ”We are closely monitoring what is happening while maintaining high alertness and readiness in all arenas - the current reality is sensitive and complex. The entire IDF is determined, alert, ready and operating with varying intensities in all sectors. Lebanon is our main center of gravity, but we are also preparing for developments in other arenas.

The operation in Beaufort is essential from an operational perspective and in relation to the objectives of the campaign. The operation was intended to deepen the operational achievement against Hezbollah and to deprive it of the underground, command, control and fire capabilities that it had developed over many years. The findings, both above ground and below ground, testify to the importance of the infrastructure that was exposed and the centrality of the Beaufort area and the Ali Taher ridge for the organization in its attempts to entrench itself and harm the residents of the north. Hezbollah has brought disaster on the state of Lebanon and the Shiite community; the citizens of Lebanon understand this well. All the villages of southern Lebanon have become an extensive network of terrorist infrastructures.

Our forces on the ground operate with operational superiority and receive unlimited fire support - from the ground and from the air. We continue to operate proactively and offensively, deepening maneuvers where necessary, strengthening defenses and removing the threat from the residents of the north. We continue to operate in Lebanon in order to strengthen the defense of the northern communities and deepen the damage to Hezbollah with ground maneuver operations and systemic fire. Any additional operational achievement we achieve will lead to the continued erosion and disintegration of Hezbollah's southern front and to the improvement of security arrangements, which will be determined within the framework of negotiations mediated by the American political echelon and the Lebanese government.”.
