Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir held a situation assessment today (Tuesday) with members of the General Staff Forum, after the ceasefire with Iran came into effect.
Zamir stated: "We are after a significant chapter that has ended, but the campaign against Iran is not over. We are moving into a new chapter that is based on the achievements achieved in the current campaign.".
He listed the achievements of the campaign. "We set back Iran's nuclear project years, and so did its missile project. The IDF acted at its best - intelligence and intelligence services brought about unprecedented intelligence achievements. The Air Force pilots, who operated heroically under risk, thousands of kilometers from the country's territory, attacked and destroyed targets.
""The Haganah Defense and ICT units, with their unique operational capabilities, worked to protect the home front. The Home Front Command forces acted with resourcefulness to save lives, and all of this under the direction of the Operations Division. Each of the commands, divisions, and branches contributed to the success of the operation - whether by directly touching on the operation in Iran, or by providing strong defense in its sector.".
The Chief of Staff noted that we should not become complacent. "Despite the phenomenal achievement - we must stay with our feet on the ground. Many challenges lie ahead. We must remain focused, there is no time to rest on our laurels.".
""Now the focus returns to Gaza - to the return of the kidnapped and the collapse of the Hamas regime. I am proud to be in command of the organization at this time.".
