
The Central Bureau of Statistics presents official wage and employment data for March 2026, based on original data for Israeli workers, alongside initial forecasts for April.
The data shows that during March 2026, the average salary for an employee position at current prices was 15,921 NIS. This figure reflects an increase of 8.81% compared to March 2025, when the average salary was 14,630 NIS.
When examining the average salary for an employee position at constant prices, deducted according to the monthly consumer price index, we find that it stood at 12,783 NIS. This is an increase of 6.81% compared to March 2025, when the figure stood at 11,965 NIS.
Alongside the increase in wages, there has been a significant reduction in the size of the workforce in the economy.
The number of salaried jobs in March 2026 amounted to 3.812 million. This amount represents a decrease of 8.3% compared to February 2026, when 4.159 million salaried jobs were counted, as well as a decrease of 7.5% compared to March 2025, when the number of jobs was 4.122 million.
