MK Moshe Gafni spoke today at the 7th Ramla Conference, which deals with the economic situation of the State of Israel, the poverty report, and corruption among public figures, and demanded a comparison between the funds coming to settlements in Judea and Samaria and the funds coming to development towns: "If there is money for settlements, there is also money for Jerusalem and businesses. There is no situation where one person is given money and not the other. We need to bring money to both settlements and localities, and that's how it was during my time.".
Gafni, the former chairman of the Finance Committee, added: "The government has failed miserably in every area, including the issue of employment for the ultra-Orthodox. There are many among the ultra-Orthodox public whose Torah is not their art and who are looking for a job to make a living, but the state is doing nothing. This government is hypocritical. It only says it wants to bring the ultra-Orthodox into the employment market, but in reality, those who are looking for work are not helped.".
The current chairman of the Finance Committee, MK Nissan Slominsky of the Jewish Home, also attacked the panel that dealt with the relationship between capitalists and giant companies: "Every tycoon knows today that he can pick up the phone to the prime minister when he is in trouble - and he immediately answers them. Where else do you hear such a thing?""

Slominsky said that there are tycoons who should be applauded, and that they bring only blessings to the state, but on the other hand, there is a group of tycoons who, according to him, promote themselves at the expense of the public, and after every loss, they immediately shift the responsibility onto the general public. "There is enormous money for the State of Israel, but the money belongs to the public. I can point to another location of the money, and they are the committees in the economy that are worse than the tycoons, for example the Ashdod Port and the electricity company. There is also an intermediary gap that monopolies profit from, and therefore we pay four times as much.
""The State of Israel is lacking in education for values and is even in the process of shattering values. Those who shatter values think they are rising to greatness, but we educate society that the more we earn, the greater we will be, and therefore what is missing is to introduce values.".
