The police hotline received a report last night (Friday night) about a pedestrian who attacked a driver at a crosswalk on Hashomer Street in Bnei Brak - amid an argument regarding the use of the road.
Upon receiving the report, police at the Bnei Brak police station opened an investigation, during which the suspect, a 54-year-old resident of Petah Tikva, was arrested this morning and brought to the police station for questioning on suspicion of simple assault.
At the conclusion of his interrogation, the suspect was released under restrictive conditions. The investigation continues.
""The Israel Police views any manifestation of violence with seriousness and will continue to act decisively against those involved in violent incidents, with the aim of maintaining public peace and security," the police statement said.
