According to him, this "success" of the two is the main reason why Hamas' civilian rule has not yet collapsed. "In their fight against IDF control over the distribution of aid, Galant and Herzi did not hesitate to spread disinformation and lies, and they received a lot of help in this - from the media.".
Ramon further claims that "military reporters and commentators have been constantly echoing the false messages of the two, and among them two stand out in particular for their negative nature - military reporter Nir Davori and political commentator Nadav Eyal, who were the leading mouthpieces of Galant and Herzi.".
Ramon says in a post he published on his X account: "Last week, Devori said in connection with the new food distribution mechanism that 'it could have been done more than a year ago, when the entire security establishment stood on its feet and said that it must be done.' My jaw literally dropped when I heard these words.
""In addition to Gallant speaking publicly against this plan, Devori himself echoed the opposition of the failed defense minister.".
Roman added: "Eyal, who is a more sophisticated spokesman than Debori, tweeted that a 'fiction' is being spread that the security establishment blocked the distribution of aid to the Palestinians through a mechanism other than the introduction of trucks, and mentioned, as an example of such a different mechanism, Galant's Gaza traders' plan (also known as the 'Northern Gaza' pilot). Eyal added and claimed that the 'Northern Gaza' plan 'was built with strong opposition from Netanyahu, who also took pains to thwart it, and when it failed, he went on to give briefings that there is no point in anything except after a complete victory over Hamas.'".
According to Ramon, "This line of claims by Eyal is simply a bunch of lies. In the plan currently being implemented in the Gaza Strip - a plan that the government promoted despite the strong opposition of Galant and Herzi - the aid reaches distribution complexes operated by an American company (which Israel is behind) and which are under IDF security cover.
""Not only did Netanyahu not oppose the 'Northern Gaza' plan, but he authorized Gallant to promote it. Its implementation on the ground was approved by the War Cabinet, and it was implemented in the Gaza Strip for several months. The one who ultimately stopped the plan was not Netanyahu, but the IDF, and this was because the merchants who received the goods through Israel paid tax to Hamas for selling aid to the Gazans (a source of income that generated more than half a billion shekels for Hamas). After several months, when the IDF got tired of Hamas making a huge fortune from Gallant's 'genius' plan, the General Staff decided to stop it.".
Ramon states: "Yoav Galant will be remembered as the worst defense minister in the history of the State of Israel, but it is also important to remember and mention 'journalists' like Nir Davuri and Nadav Eyal, who assisted him in his efforts to thwart any plan for food distribution in the Gaza Strip under IDF supervision - a folly that has allowed the Hamas regime to survive until now - and now they are trying to rewrite history.".
