Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed today (Tuesday) the fall of the three Givati Brigade fighters - Sergeant Lior Steinberg, Sergeant Ofek Barhana and Sergeant Omar van Gelder - who were killed in a powerful bomb explosion in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

""I would like to express deep sorrow for the fall of Sergeant Lior Steinberg, Sergeant Ofek Barhana and Sergeant Omer van Gelder, may their memory be blessed. May God have mercy on them," Netanyahu said.

The Prime Minister addressed the bereaved families: "I want to hug their families and tell them: Your precious sons did not fall in vain. They fell in a just war like no other, in a war in which we will defeat Hamas, release all our hostages and ensure that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel.".

Netanyahu emphasized the IDF's caution on the ground: "We are moving forward in a measured manner to prevent or reduce as much as possible the deaths of our soldiers. But unfortunately, there are no free wars, and the price you pay, the price that the people of Israel pay, is heavy, sometimes it seems unbearable.".

However, he concluded with a strong message: "But we will achieve the war goals - all of them - without exception.".

Givati Brigade fighters were driving a Hummer on a logistics route in the Jabaliya area, and a bomb placed on the route exploded, hitting and killing them. Two fighters were moderately injured and were evacuated to hospitals for treatment.
