Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and his wife, media personality Geula Even-Sa'ar, filed a defamation lawsuit in a speedy trial today (Sunday) for 75,000 NIS against media personality Barak Sari.

The lawsuit was filed in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court through attorney Avi Asio, following a publication by Siri that the couple went on a private vacation in London with their family - at the expense of the public purse.
According to the lawsuit, the vacation was fully funded from the couple's private account, including airfare, accommodation, and expenses.
The couple notes that during his stay in London, Minister Saar held policy meetings with senior British officials and with the president of the Jewish community in England.
The lawsuit also claims that Sa'ar warned Sari that this was false advertising, but despite this, Sari also published the information on the radio and Channel 12, claiming that the political meetings were intended to justify public funding.
