Preparations for the Lag BaOmer celebration in Meron are reaching a new stage: The Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition has completed the paving work of 'Derech Hillel' - a new exit path behind Zion Rashbi, which includes stairs and safety railings, designed to improve the flow of the public and reduce congestion.

The work, which is being carried out at the initiative of Minister of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition Meir Porush, the Hillula Project Director Yossi Deitch, and the professionals in the ministry led by Director General Shimon Album and Deputy Director General Haim Rosenstein, is part of drawing lessons from the deprivation of souls in previous years, and of special preparation for a year in which Lag BaOmer falls on a Friday - similar to the year of the disaster.

As part of the upgrade, new and expanded access paths were arranged, staircases divided into sections were built, and railings were installed to secure the passage.

The goal: to open the existing 'bottlenecks' around the holy site, increase traffic safety, and enable the entry of a larger audience using the 'moving film' method - in a fluid, orderly, and safe manner.

Minister of Jerusalem and the tradition of Israel, Meir Porush"We are investing a lot of effort to upgrade the safety of the crossings and roads on Mount Meron, but the ultimate success depends on the mutual guarantee and diligence of each and every immigrant to Meron.".

The jubilant projector, Yossi Deitch, He added: “This year, Lag BaOmer falls on a Friday, as in the year of the disaster, which requires all of us to exercise caution, consideration for others, and full compliance with instructions – so that we may be able to celebrate with Rashbi in joy and safety.”.

Deputy Director of the Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition and Head of the Meron Division, Chaim Rosenstein, emphasized: “Over the past few months, we have worked to open critical bottlenecks around Zion, with the goal of expanding the flow of the congregation and enabling safe and respectful prayer for the thousands of immigrants from Mirona.”.
