The Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, today (Sunday) conducted a field tour and assessment of the situation in Syria with the Commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin, the Commander of Division 210, Maj. Gen. Yair Plai, and other commanders.

He spoke with the commanders and fighters operating in the field and approved the plans for continuing the defense and attack.

Zamir said: "This space is a vital space. We entered here because Syria fell apart, so we hold key points and are on the front lines to protect ourselves in the best way possible.".

He added: "From this place you can see everyone on this ridge - it's a strategic point. We don't know how things will develop here, but our hold here has extremely important security significance.".

""IDF forces will continue to operate in the security area and protect residents from any threat.".
