Security forces began a large-scale operation in the Nablus area as part of the operations to eradicate terrorism in the northern Samaria region.
Special forces from the Gideonim unit of Lahav 433 in the Israel Police, in cooperation with the Shin Bet and the IDF, arrested yesterday (Tuesday) in the Nablus area the terrorist Mahmoud Bana, a former senior terrorist in the terror infrastructure that was thwarted by 'Lions' Den', who was armed at the time of his arrest with an M-16 rifle and a grenade launcher.
The terrorist was involved in attempted shooting and IED attacks against security forces in Judea and Samaria and had previously planned additional attacks.
During his arrest, the terrorist tried to escape and was shot in the leg.
In addition, forces from the Duvdevan unit arrested yesterday, at the direction of the Shin Bet, the terrorist Khalil Hanbali, who was wanted by the security forces for his involvement in terrorist activity. The terrorist was involved in shooting attacks against IDF forces and served as a major weapons dealer in Judea and Samaria.
During his arrest, weapons were found in his possession.
The arrested terrorists and the confiscated weapons were transferred to the security forces for further processing.
