Abducted maids, activists and volunteers, held a unique matzah baking event in Tel Aviv's Hatupim Square ahead of Passover, initiated by the Ayelet Hashachar organization.
A matzo bakery was set up in the organization's tent in the square, to bake fancy matzos together with the families, which were packaged and delivered to the families as a symbol of faith, solidarity, and in anticipation of the soon freedom of their loved ones.
At the same time, additional matzos were baked for the hostages still being held in Gaza, with the aim of transferring them to them through the UN.
The initiative seeks to convey a clear message: You are not alone. The entire people of Israel are waiting for you, and continue to work on your behalf day and night.
Rabbi Shlomo Raanan, chairman of the Ayelet Hashachar organization, which has been accompanying the families of the abductees since October 7, said: "In Nisan they were redeemed, and in Nisan they will be redeemed. Passover, the holiday of freedom, is approaching, but dozens of our people are still imprisoned by Hamas. From this square we send light and hope to Gaza, praying for the redemption and freedom of all the abductees, and a clear call to the government and international bodies to return them all, both living and dead, now."'
The families stated at the event that they "expect the matzos to reach the hostages and remind them of the symbol of freedom.".
The event concluded with a joint prayer for the return of the kidnapped before the Seder, so that the entire Jewish people can sit around the holiday table with a whole heart.
