Four suspects were arrested last night (Tuesday) by Jerusalem District police on suspicion of committing a violent robbery of a shuttle driver in the south of the city, after attacking him and going on a shopping spree using his credit cards.

The arrest was made after a report was received at the police headquarters yesterday afternoon from a shuttle driver, who complained that he had been robbed by several suspects while driving in the southern Jerusalem area. Police from the Moriah Station were immediately called to the scene.

Initial investigation revealed that the driver was driving three suspects who wanted to go to the synagogue in the Gilo neighborhood. When they arrived at the scene, the suspects began to violently attack him, apparently threatening him with a sharp object, robbed him of his credit cards, and fled.

As part of the rapid investigation, suspicions arose that the suspects were in a shopping mall in the south of the city. As a result, police from the Moriah police station conducted searches at the location and were able to locate two of the suspects while they were in a clothing store.

While searching one of them, the police located the victim's credit cards. The two were arrested, with one of them attempting to resist, and taken in for questioning.

In addition, when the police approached the car whose keys they had located on one of the suspects, they noticed two other suspects waiting inside, and the two were also arrested for questioning.

Additionally, another credit card belonging to the victim was located, along with an assault weapon that was suspected of being used during the robbery, and new property that was suspected of being purchased using the credit cards.

The four suspects who were arrested were taken for questioning at the Moriah police station and were subsequently imprisoned.

During the day, the police will ask the court to extend their detention in order to complete the investigation into their case.
