Chaos on Highway 1: Shortly after midnight (Friday night), traffic police stopped two yeshiva students on Highway 1 near the Sha'ar Hagai interchange - and hundreds of protesters were called to the scene, blocking the road.
One of the arrested men was released, while the other man, a student at the Derech Hashem yeshiva and a resident of the Haredi city of Modiin Illit, was handed over to the military police.
The yeshiva team recruited attorney Menachem Stauber to handle the case.
After more than an hour and a half of the main road in the State of Israel being blocked in both directions, large forces of police, border guards, and the Border Police arrived on the scene - dispersing the hundreds of protesters and opening the road.

Footage from the scene showed riot police officers from the Jerusalem District Police using severe violence against the demonstrators, using fists, batons, and stun grenades - and severe clashes developed at the scene.
Before the clashes that developed on Highway 1, a group of extremists arrived in the Gilo neighborhood in Jerusalem and demonstrated near the home of the commander of the Israeli Defense Forces.
Police forces were on the scene, and the protesters left.
