The Pantry Packers charity project of the Chabad Kollel in Jerusalem took on a particularly Purim atmosphere, with the arrival of orphans and widows of the Menachem Mendel Charity - the educational division of the Chabad Kollel, who came to help pack food boxes for those in need and participate in an experiential day of charity.

The event took place in a Purim-like, festive and joyful atmosphere, in which feelings of family and deep giving merged.

""It was so moving to see the children and mothers so happy," said Rabbi Menachem Trexler, director of the charity. "We felt like we were part of a big family that cared for us wholeheartedly," said one of the widows.

At Pantry Packers in Jerusalem, there is ongoing activity of distributing food to those in need, with volunteers coming to pack food deliveries intended for various audiences.

""We bring everything from the importer here and we pack the food shipments," says Kollel. The shipments are divided into three types: some are directed to soup kitchens and people who receive hot meals delivered to their homes every day, some are sent to widows and some to orphans, who receive continuous support throughout the year.

The visit of the orphans and widows combined a colorful Purim celebration with a heartwarming community activity. The children and mothers were treated to deliveries of food prepared especially for them, dressed up, and enjoyed holiday activities that created an atmosphere of great joy.

""We felt like someone was thinking about us and caring about us," one of the widows shared. "The children's smiles are worth everything.".

""The joy of giving is an inseparable part of the holiday," said the director of the 'Kollel', Rabbi Mendi Blau. "The event not only strengthened the bond with the families, but also allowed them to lend a hand in the mitzvot of the holiday of Purim.".
