Elisheva, the grandmother of Elad Winkelstein, who was murdered this week in a terrorist attack in the village of Pondok in Samaria, passed away today (Thursday). Yossi, Elad's father, will now sit as a 'sheba' for both his son and his mother, simultaneously.

Winkelstein was murdered in front of his 10-year-old son. The father managed to fire two bullets at the terrorists before he was murdered.

Winkelstein, a 35-year-old police investigator from Kibbutz Ein Hantziv, is survived by his wife Tal and his children Neve and Omer, his parents Naomi and Yossi Winkelstein, and his brothers: Yonatan, Hadas and Harel.

His sister, Hadas Labiad, told in an interview on the Be'er Sheva network how Naveh reacted to the incident.

""Neve said that suddenly they heard shots. He immediately lowered his head. When he raised his head, he saw that Elad had been shot in the head, and blood was pouring down his face. He said that 'Dad managed to fire two shots.'.

""I understood from him that they were a little behind the shooting vehicle and Elad returned to shoot. He called him 'father' and he didn't answer. He said that when he saw all the blood, he immediately turned his head away because he didn't want to see his father like that.".

Neve was left alone in the car.

The aunt said: "He was crazy resourceful. He took Elad's phone, got to another driver, opened the door and asked him if he was Jewish, to make sure he was going to someone safe. The driver said 'yes' and took him. Neve called Elad's wife - and told her 'Father is dead'. He told us what happened. We tried to believe that he was just injured and that Neve was stressed.".
