Firefighters and volunteers from the Yehuda Regional Station worked at noon (Friday) on a fire that broke out in an apartment on Maggid Street from Mezeritch in the Haredi city of Beitar Illit. This involved a Chabad family. Rabbi Reshef Kobi Erez, shift commander: "Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, we detected a lot of smoke coming out of the windows of the house. The family members were outside and said that they smelled smoke and fled the house. "The teams began to penetrate the apartment in order to scan and locate those trapped, in parallel with the operations to extinguish the fire and release the smoke. The firefighters reported from inside the apartment that the focus of the fire was in the children's room." Rabbi Reshef Kobi Erez: "This fire ended without any casualties, but with property damage. I urge you: Install smoke detectors and save lives. The smoke detector warns of the outbreak of a fire and allows us to escape and rescue those dear to us.".
