The reception room of the Pittsburgh Rebbe, who lives on Tzadkat Yosef Street in Ashdod, was broken into on Shabbat night, the day of Passover.
On Saturday morning, the Hasidim discovered the door broken open, but during the Sabbath nothing appeared to have been stolen, as valuable items remained in the cupboards and on the Rebbe's desk.
It was only on Saturday night that it became clear that the thief had opened the Rebbe's personal drawer, where thousands of shekels were lying.
At the same time, the Rebbe's personal security officer claims, contrary to what the Hasidim in the courtyard say, that "it is not certain that a break-in was carried out.".
