Is there a chance that Judea and Samaria will be annexed to Israel during this presidency?" "Certainly," Huckabee said. "I will not set the policy; I will carry out the president's policy. But he has already proven during his first term that there has been no American president who has been more supportive of establishing an understanding of Israel's sovereignty. From moving the embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing the Golan Heights and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, no one has done more than President Trump, and I expect that to continue." Huckabee added: "I would visit Judea and Samaria frequently. I believe with all my heart that the people of Israel deserve a safe state and security." In Trump's official announcement of Huckabee's appointment, Trump wrote: "Mike is a great public servant, governor, and leader of faith for many years. He loves Israel and the people of Israel, and the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring peace to the Middle East." Huckabee describes himself as an "ardent supporter" of Israel and has visited Israel many times, as well as supporting settlements and criticizing calls for Israel to withdraw to the '67 lines.
