Miya Shem, the abductee who returned from Hamas captivity as part of the first operation after 54 days in captivity, participated last week in an event at the Israeli consulate in New York, where she chillingly recreated the difficult conditions in which she was held - and called for the release of the 101 abductees who are still being held captive. Tonight (Tuesday), Miya, who is still staying with her mother in New York, posted a particularly moving photo on Instagram, documenting the mother and daughter praying in the name of the Lubavitcher Rebbe zt"l. Miya Shem wrote: "I can't believe where I was a year ago and where I am today. Thank you for the privilege of making the voices of all the abductees still in captivity heard. With God's help, thanks to our prayers, everyone will be able to return home, reunite with their loved ones and take care of themselves. Amen, so be it." Since the massacre on October 7, countless people have come to the Rebbe’s Zion to pray for the hostages held in the Gaza Strip, for the safety of the residents of the Holy Land – and to thank God for those who have been freed. The Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Zion is the most visited Jewish holy site in the United States – and millions of people, both Jews and non-Jews, visit the place every year.
