Singer Eran Tzur apologized at noon (Sunday) for a tweet he posted on his Twitter account against the blowing of the shofar and for calling the sound of the blasts "repulsive.".
""I'm sorry for my stupid tweet about the shofar," Tzur wrote. "I apologize to anyone who was offended by me. I love the great Judaism and am proud to be Jewish. And may we be well and safe here.".
At the end of Rosh Hashanah, Tzur tweeted on his Twitter account, which is followed by thousands of people, and wrote: "There is someone here in the neighborhood who blows the shofar for his own pleasure throughout the holiday season. I have never heard such a repulsive sound. You can really hear that it is an organic organ that produces a penetrating sound that cannot be escaped. I respect the custom in the synagogue. But at home? Dear brother. Stop immediately.".
Tzur's tweet caused a stir and many responded to his words.
Create deleted the tweet shortly after it was posted.
In response to the question from 'Walla Celebs' whether he deleted the tweet because he had changed his mind, Tzur replied: "Some wrote to me that I had hurt their religious feelings. That was not my intention and I apologize for that.".
