Eliyahu Tzarfati, a United Hatzalah paramedic from the Bnei Brak branch, was rarely honored to save lives in two successful resuscitations - less than three hours apart.
Eliyahu, who is known as one of the most active volunteers in the city, was called early Thursday morning to a call about an 84-year-old woman who had lost consciousness in her home in Ramat Gan on the border with Bnei Brak.
The paramedic arrived at the scene quickly and began strenuous and prolonged CPR, during which her pulse returned - and she was evacuated to the hospital for further treatment.
Less than three hours later, Eliyahu was deployed again: this time to a 70-year-old man who was feeling unwell at his home in Ramat Gan.
In this case too, he arrived quickly at the scene and provided first aid. As the patient's condition deteriorated, he lost consciousness.
After CPR and electric shocks, the pulse and breathing returned and the patient was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
