While many in Israel fear the Iranian response and its proxies, in retaliation for the assassinations of Fuad Shokher in Beirut and Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, and the media are competing among themselves to highlight the Iranian threats more, some explain why they are calm.

Yaakov Rivlin, the political commentator for 'Bekhila', tweeted on his Twitter account: "My family members ask me why I am less afraid of them these days. After all, I am supposed to know better the magnitude of the danger.

""I told them that throughout my life I have felt much more afraid on other days. I still remember the anxiety on the eve of the Six-Day War, when the radio station 'Kol Cairo' broadcast descriptions of Aviv being conquered and its residents being massacred. I remember the first days of the Yom Kippur War when the Egyptian and Syrian armies were just a few days' fighting away from the center of the country.

""In these proportions, a few days without electricity will be very difficult, but not yet an existential threat.".

One of the surfers attacked the veteran commentator - wondering: "Perhaps you will surprise me and explain how an intra-Haredi political commentator (albeit a high-quality one) can comment and provide content on security and Orientalism issues. I will mention that you have never served a single day in any army (again, except for the army of God...).".

The surfer added: "Even a deaf fool will be considered wise.".

Rivlin, who actually served in the military, responded: "Boy. I served in the army plus dozens of years in the reserves. And now get off my feed.".
