""You were tired and found you believe": This was the feeling of the orphans - who invested and persevered in the activities of the 'Chesed Menachem Mendel' Foundation, the educational division of the Chabad Kollel, reaped achievements and were now honored to receive a prestigious scholarship, as a token of appreciation for their excellence.

The moving ceremony took place at the Chabad Kollel's 'Ulmi Gutnik' celebration center, in the shadow of a challenging year and at the height of a relentless war, with the assistance of the Meromim Foundation and the Renner family, on the occasion of their son's Bar Mitzvah celebration.

The entire event was honored with the active presence of the Rishon LeZion and Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Moshe Shlomo Amar, who accompanies the 'Chabad Kollel' event.

Rabbi Amar was deeply impressed by the intensity of the activity that unfolded before his eyes. For many minutes, he was exposed to the long journey that each family, each mother, and each child went through - from the heartbreak, pain, and loss to success and excellence.

Rabbi Amar was welcomed by the dedicated team of the Chabad Kolel, led by Rabbi Zalman Duchman, son of the Kolel's director, Rabbi Shalom Duchman, who came especially from New York, Rabbi Mendy Blau, one of the Kolel's leaders, and Jack Balanga - Vice President of the Israel Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Kolel's Board of Trustees.

Balanga briefly told several anecdotes from his exciting life story, from the days when he crossed the Syrian border as a poor child to his high status today. His exciting and moving speech gave strength and power to all the orphans and widows. At the end of his lecture, Balanga gave his special book 'I Escaped from Damascus' to each family.

With open attention and excitement, a scholarship was awarded to each and every one of the outstanding students.

The hall was filled with orphans from all over the country, some of whom were orphans as a result of the severe war that broke out since the Simchat Torah massacre. These were orphans who were returned to the school system, received the right help, and achieved excellent achievements.

It was a dignified and tearful gathering. As of today, hundreds of families are being helped by the Menachem Mendel Charity Foundation, in dozens of cities and towns, all over the country. The uniqueness of the foundation lies in the consistent and orderly assistance, provided while taking responsibility for the activity, personal interest in the situation of each family, boy and girl – and professional educational navigation while supervising every detail to ensure the success of the activity.
