Moments of peace in a difficult year: Families of widows and orphans participated in the annual fun day of 'Chesed Menachem Mendel' - the educational division of 'Kollel Chabad'.
In advance, the dedicated team worked to formulate the agenda, every hour of which became pure pleasure for the hundreds of participants.
The fun day, donated by the Fox family in honor of their son entering the mitzvot, kicked off the summer events of 'Chesed Menachem Mendel', which will later include more fun days, activities, and recreation for families.
The events and fun days of the 'Kollel' are intended for those families for whom there is a real need to strengthen the body and soul.
The fun day began with a special family trip that included an experiential jeep tour and a special walking trail in Ein al-Hastaf. It concluded with a shared dinner, accompanied by music and a juggling show.
Rabbi Shalom Duchman, the director of the 'Kollel' who came from New York, took an active part throughout the day. Rabbi Duchman spoke with the widows and orphans, listened, encouraged and strengthened in his unique and enlightening way.
""It was thoughtful and fun, and most of all, the atmosphere was special," wrote one of the widows. "It was an atmosphere reserved for events that are done wholeheartedly to spread goodness. Thank you for everything! Much appreciated!".
""To all those involved in the work," wrote another widow, "who each did their job, everything with a smile and a bright face. Thank you for an enjoyable trip, jeeps for the journey through the magical landscape of Jerusalem, delicious food for both children and adults, seasonal fruits that were just in time, in a magical atmosphere with the pleasant, fresh air of Jerusalem. Everything is truly a dream.".
