President of the State, Isaac Herzog, addressed the left's incitement against the prime minister and the government today (Tuesday), in a meeting with new heads of local and regional authorities. The president said: "I am very concerned. I am very concerned about the rise in tone, the very sharp verbal clashes that we have seen in recent times. Expressions that have no place in the public sphere. "I am a great believer in the rights of the individual, the citizen, the freedom of demonstration and protest. Of course, it is important to preserve and allow it, it is part of a healthy society. We are a very vibrant democracy and it is a source of pride, the mosaic that is presented here also shows the truth - people want to live together. And life itself dictates a lot of things. "But sometimes we see examples that go beyond the scope of possible convention, that is, they reach places of violence that are very dangerous, and the local government, the enforcement authorities and the state have a role in knowing how to keep everything within the limits of the law on the one hand, and within the framework of human and individual rights on the other."
