Residents of the city of Emanuel are protesting against the decision to allow Arab workers to work in the ultra-Orthodox city - after their entry was banned throughout the months of the war.
This morning (Sunday), dozens of residents held a protest at one of the city's construction sites.
Border Police officers arrived at the scene, dispersed the demonstration, and arrested one of the protesters on suspicion of obstructing a police officer in the performance of his duties.
Attorney Nati Rom from Mehonu assisted the settler, who was released a short time later.
Attorney Rom: "We are faced with a delusional reality in which Jews who are holding a legitimate protest are forced to bring Palestinian workers to work within the city limits during a time of war, at the risk of the city's residents, dispersed through the use of force and the arrest of one of them for the offense of obstructing a police officer.".
""I have not seen such treatment of protesters in all the demonstrations by the anarchists from Kaplan who blocked roads and lit bonfires. The police should adopt the same policy towards protesters from all political spectrums. We will continue to assist all those fighting in the campaign for the Land of Israel.".
