In the past two weeks, IDF and Shin Bet forces, led by Division 162, along with forces from the 401st Special Operations Command, the 13th Battalion, the Nahal Special Operations Command, and the Duvdevan Unit, carried out a targeted operation at Shifa' Hospital in Gaza.
The operation was carried out following preliminary and accurate intelligence from Military Intelligence and the Shin Bet about terrorist organizations conducting activities in the Gaza Strip from the hospital and using it as a command and control center and military headquarters.

In the operation, the forces eliminated approximately 200 terrorists and arrested 513 terrorists identified as affiliated with terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. The detainees were transferred for further investigation to Intelligence Branch 504 and the Shin Bet.
The forces located numerous weapons and intelligence documents throughout the hospital, encountered terrorists in hand-to-hand combat, and fought while avoiding harm to the medical staff and patients.
The documents that were located listed the names of the senior terrorists present at the hospital, as well as a document describing meetings of terrorists that took place there.
During the operation, the fighters were surprised by two suicide bombers with grenades on them. The Navy fighters eliminated them.
This morning the mission was completed and the forces left the hospital area. "The IDF and Shin Bet will continue to operate in the northern Gaza Strip and wherever terrorism rears its head," the IDF said.
An IDF source said that the hospital was in fact a terrorist headquarters. "The ruse to trick Hamas into thinking that the IDF would only operate in the northern Gaza Strip and would not enter the hospital was successful," the source said.
In the northern Gaza Strip, according to the IDF, 6,000 terrorists have been eliminated so far and 42 production sites have been destroyed, negating terrorist activities.
As reported last week, in the maternity complex, forces located numerous weapons hidden in the patients' pillows and beds, in the ceilings and walls of the complex.
Among the weapons found: dozens of mortar bombs, IEDs, sniper weapons, Kalashnikovs, pistols, charges, cartridges, mortars and additional ammunition.
During one of the searches they conducted in the compound, the forces encountered armed terrorists and senior figures in the Hamas terrorist organization on the staircase. A chase and exchange of fire took place between the two, and the senior terrorists were eliminated.
