Security officials informed the political echelon today (Friday) that there are increasing signs that Hamas' number three in Gaza, Marwan Issa, has been eliminated. According to a report in Kan News, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in the small meeting where the update was received: "This is an important and significant achievement for Israel." On Sunday, the IDF attacked Issa, deputy to Muhammad Daif, who was hiding in Nussirat in the central Gaza Strip. Israel carried out a series of unusual attacks on the Nussirat refugee camp. Following the attacks, Hamas sent rescue teams to the area, and those teams were also attacked. Issa was in a tunnel dozens of meters underground at the time of the attack. Issa, 59, is the deputy to the head of Hamas' military wing, Muhammad Daif, and the man who connected it with the political wing. If the assassination was indeed successful, it would mean the elimination of the most senior Hamas terrorist in the Gaza Strip, after Ayman Nofal, Ahmed Randour, and Saleh al-Arouri, who operated from Lebanon and was behind a series of Hamas attacks in Judea and Samaria.
