Attorney Eitan Haberman, representing Attorney Shlomo Elbaum, head of the 'Good of the City' list, which is running in the Bnei Brak municipal council elections, sent a letter today (Sunday) to the National Supervisor of Elections Ryan Ganem, and to the Bnei Brak elections director Adir Hermon, under the title: "Promising ballots in the city of Bnei Brak.".
First thing at the polls: What will you do if there is an alarm when you vote?
In his letter, the attorney wrote: "We are addressing you on behalf of Mr. Shlomo Elbaum, a resident of the city of Bnei Brak and a member of the city's elections committee, as follows:
""Our client has learned that a plan is being formulated in preparation for the vote in the elections for mayor and council, or even during it, according to which the mayoral candidate, Minister Ariel Menachem Bosso, will resign from his candidacy for mayor, and after that the candidate, Mr. Yaakov Wider, will also resign.".
""If the aforementioned plan is indeed realized, it is appropriate to hold a vote for and against the only remaining candidate, Mr. Hanoch Seibert, all in accordance with the provisions of Section 9D of the Local Authorities Law (Election of the Head of the Authority and His Deputies and Their Term of Office), 5735-1975.".
""It appears that implementing the plan requires special preparation in terms of providing notice to all polling stations in the city and preparing ballots for and against at the polling stations.".
""If you are not prepared for such a possibility, here comes our appeal, in advance, to bring about the necessary preparations in case it comes true.".
The Mehal faction in the Bnei Brak City Council said in response to Haredim 10: "The delusional letter is not worthy of a response, as everyone knows that only Wider managed to withstand everyone's deals and schemes for five years.
""The writers of the letter declared yesterday that they would join Seibert's rotten coalition and now they are rightly afraid that they will not pass the threshold. On the contrary, if the good of the city of Bnei Brak is important to them - they should withdraw their candidacy and support Bieder.".
