Attorney Moshe Lippel, a resident of the city of Bnei Brak, filed an administrative petition yesterday (Sunday) through attorney Zvi Sachs, against the candidacy of Health Minister Uriel Bosso for mayor of Bnei Brak on behalf of Shas.

Judge Kobi Vardi of the Tel Aviv Administrative Court ruled in his decision on the petition: "Considering the date of the local elections, I set a hearing before me in the presence of the parties to the petition for 2/22/24 at 11:30 AM. The respondents' answers will be submitted to the secretariat by 2/21/24 at 11:00 AM.

The secretariat will urgently notify the petitioner that he will personally deliver the petition, the request and the court's decision to the respondents, including the Tel Aviv District Civil Attorney's Office, by 5:00 PM today.".

The petitioner, attorney Moshe Lipel, says: "It is impossible for the party leaders to profit from the residents of Bnei Brak and make political deals on the backs of the residents. Someone who is not a resident of the city and does not know its history and pain cannot be parachuted in for political purposes in order to receive support in other cities. The time has come to put an end to the despicable and depraved trade that takes place only in the Haredi cities.".

Channel 12 reported this evening that Health Minister Uriel Bosso did not actually move his residence from Petah Tikva to Bnei Brak as he claimed.

News 12's investigation shows that even now - 8 days before the elections - Bosso continues to go to work from his home in Petah Tikva, where his guard is also stationed. This is despite the fact that the law explicitly states that a candidate for mayor must have a direct and active connection to the place where he wishes to serve and live there permanently.

Bosso claimed in response that the center of his life was and remains in the city of Bnei Brak, where he conducts all his activities and where his address also appears, as required by law. His family continues to live in Petah Tikva and he visits them on some days of the week.

Channel 12 said: "This is not what our findings show - a health minister who wants to be mayor of Bnei Brak and actually lives in Petah Tikva.".

Because, as reported in Haredim 10, Shas was expecting a petition to remove Bosso's candidacy, without the feeling among the electorate that they were using this run - with an explicit promise to "run to the end" - only to maximize profits for Shas in other cities.

According to a report by media figure Itai Gadsi, a senior party official revealed that in the days leading up to the elections, a petition will be filed against Bosso's candidacy, claiming that his place of residence and center of life is in Petah Tikva. The same official claimed that Shas will fight in court and may even petition the High Court of Justice - but with the understanding that there is no chance of the petition succeeding.

This way, Shas will be able to take advantage of the atmosphere of deprivation that will be created, for the benefit of the party's campaign for the city council. In this way, Shas will gain a double profit: both Bosso's candidacy has been removed and the party will be able to present to its supporters that this is a decree that was "forced" on the party by the court, simply because "everyone is against Shas.".

As reported in Haredim 10, there were those who tried to put pressure on the third candidate for mayor, Likud city council member Yaakov Wider, to petition against Buso's candidacy and be the ladder that would bring him down from the Bani Baraki tree he had climbed. However, those around Wider said in response: "He sees no interest in helping their combinations right now.".

Now Shas is supposed to respond to the court by Wednesday morning - whether they will withdraw Bosso's candidacy, or put him on the witness stand and hold a hearing in court.

Yaakov Wider, a member of the city council, responds sharply: "From the first moment I told you that Bosso's candidacy is a stinking scheme by Deri and Seibert against the residents of Bnei Brak.

""For now, Seibert, Shapira, and Shas are sitting together in the coalition of jobs and combines, and don't believe the businessmen who, a minute after the elections, will raise the property taxes you pay to finance another huge wasteful celebration for them. The only one who will fight so that they don't steal your money is only Wider!""
