As a result of the act of violence, the bus driver did not require medical treatment.
Police forces from the Lev HaBira station were called to the scene where the driver was attacked, located the passenger, arrested him, and he was taken for questioning at the Lev HaBira station.
The police investigation into the case revealed that about a week ago, at night, the defendant boarded a public bus. At a certain point, he began to attack, spit on, and threaten the bus driver, while putting his upper body into the partition separating the driver and passengers.
It is suspected that he carried out the attack because he was dissatisfied with the bus driver's driving style, as he had difficulty falling asleep during the ride.
After conducting rapid investigative actions and establishing an evidentiary infrastructure, the investigation against the defendant was concluded and an indictment was filed against him by the Jerusalem District Police Prosecution Unit.
""The police view acts of bullying and violence in public spaces with great severity, especially violence directed at public servants and bus drivers," the police say. "We will continue to act against violence on the roads, and violent lawbreakers who attack bus drivers who provide service to the traveling public.".
