Yocheved Lifshitz, 85, who was released from captivity in Gaza about a month ago, revealed that during her time in Hamas captivity, she met Yahya Sinwar in one of the tunnels - and even scolded him a few words.
""Sinwar was with us 3-4 days after we arrived," Lipshitz told Davar. "I asked him how he wasn't ashamed, to do such a thing to people who had supported peace all these years? He didn't answer. He was silent.".
Lipshitz, who came to demonstrate last night for the return of the remaining abductees, added: "I am here to demonstrate. To bring my Oded home. We will continue to demonstrate until all the abductees return.".
Lifshitz is a photographer, teacher and human rights activist. She was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz on Simchat Torah. Two and a half weeks later, she was released from Hamas captivity, along with Nurit Cooper.
According to a report by Amit Segal on Channel 12, hostages held in a tunnel in the Gaza Strip said that suddenly they felt a sensation and then a door opened. At the door stood a bearded man who spoke to them in excellent Hebrew without an accent - and his name was Yahya Sinwar.
Sinwar, who personally ordered the murder, rape, massacre, and beheading, wanted to find out about the condition of the hostages, looked at them in the tunnel, and told them: "Hello, I am Yahya Sinwar, you are the most protected here. Nothing will happen to you.".
The story was conveyed to the family and verified by the authorities who would investigate it.
Sinwar, who was released as part of the Shalit deal, learned Hebrew in an Israeli prison and watches news from Israel obsessively.
