""We were driving in a car when suddenly shots started. The shooting didn't stop, the terrorist simply tried to eliminate us. If we had stood still, it would have simply been a confirmed kill. He simply fired bullet after bullet" - this is how Hadassah Mizrahi recalled this morning (Wednesday) the first moments of the shooting attack last Monday, in which her husband was killed, Lieutenant Colonel Baruch Mizrahi The 47-year-old, from Modi'in.

""Baruch saw that they were shooting, so he told me: 'There's a terrorist,' and put his foot on the gas," Hadassah described the dramatic sequence of events in a conversation with the Walla website. "He got a bullet and I got a bullet, and I noticed that we were doing a zig-zag with the car. I picked it up, grabbed the steering wheel, downshifted and the vehicle stopped. I called the 100 hotline, and at the same time soldiers arrived and told them to bandage me. I saw right then that Baruch had been murdered and I didn't want the children to be traumatized.".

""We will move forward with a lot of strength, slowly, with a supportive family and friends," says Hadassah. "I want to raise my children so that they can serve in the army and get married. That will be our joy.".

She said about her husband: "He served 25 years in the army and then in the police. He was very successful, a leader in his field, we were together for 20 years. He was a devoted and charming father, who also found time to be with the children. Our last trip was last week when we were on safari.".

Mizrahi sought to convey a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in light of recent reports about a possible deal with the Palestinian Authority: "Another family has been destroyed, and therefore I call on the Prime Minister not to release terrorists.".
