יו"ר ועדת הכספים, ח"כ ניסן סלומינסקי, הודיע אחר הצהריים (ראשון) כי יזמן לוועדה בראשה הוא עומד את שר האוצר יאיר לפיד, כדי לשמוע ממנו על המקורות התקציבים לתכניות שהציג במסיבת עיתונאים שקיים מוקדם יותר היום. "אני שמח שסוף סוף הסאגה בין שר האוצר לראש הממשלה הסתיימה", אמר סלומינסקי, "אך עדיין נשארה התעלומה הגדולה: מאיפה יביאו את אותם כספים שעליהם שר האוצר דיבר היום. Finance Committee member, MK Stav Shafir from Labor, attacked Lapid following the budget he presented: "The Finance Minister is simply misleading the citizens of Israel, revealing only the parts of the budget that are convenient for him and hiding the less pleasant parts.".
At the press conference held by Lapid, along with senior Finance Ministry officials, parts of the state budget for next year were presented. The minister announced additions of approximately 7 billion NIS to the Ministries of Health, Education, Welfare and Public Security, alongside an addition of 6 billion NIS to the Ministry of Defense.
