On Saturday, one of the war wounded at a party on Kibbutz Re'im was admitted to the intensive care unit of Assuta Hospital in Ashdod - in serious condition.
After her condition improved and stabilized, she was transferred for further treatment in the orthopedic department.
In order to ease her condition, her family requested that her beloved dog be admitted to the hospital, and in an unusual step and in light of the understanding that this step could improve the injured woman's condition and cheer her up - and after the intervention of the service, operations, and primarily nursing staff - the request was approved.
To everyone's delight, it wasn't long after the dog entered the hospital that further improvement in the patient's condition was noted.
Family members: "There is no doubt that the encounter with the dog helped and contributed to the improvement of her condition. It is not at all understandable that, given the reality and the burden placed on the hospital these days, they found time to delve into the request and find a way to implement it.".
