Justice Ministry Minister Dudi Amsalem responded today (Sunday) to the attack against him by 'Ulpan Shishi' presenter Danny Kushmaro and former Chief of Staff Dan Halutz.

The presenter accused the minister, who this week in the Knesset called the injury of protester Col. (res.) Udi Uri of the police's Makhzat unit during the evacuation of the Ayalon Highways a "scratch near the eye" - of "a disgusting statement about an IDF soldier who almost lost his eye," and attacked Amsalem: "Calling him a scoundrel who got a scratch in the eye. Aren't you ashamed? How many reservists have you served in your life?""

In response, Amsalem published a post on social media, alongside photos, in which he wrote: "Dear Mr. Halutz and Mr. Kushmaru, just for your information, from the age of 18 in the regular army to the age of 40 in the reserves, I served as a tank commander in all sectors - from Sinai to Lebanon.

""I participated in most of the operations and did 35 days of reserve duty in the Tash and another 14 days of training each year, and the tanks in our time were not air-conditioned and the 'mamas' did not make us vegetable omelets in the prestigious club, we mainly ate canned loofah and goulash. Please, it would be a good idea to update the message page.".

Minister Amsalem said last Monday in the Knesset plenary: "Police officers broke the heads of Haredim on Shabbat with horses and horsemen, injured them, sent them to all the emergency rooms.

“But here, God forbid, someone was scratched near the eye, they sent the BBC and all the television networks to him, why? Because one of the Zefunbons was injured in the eye, God forbid, how could that be?”
