This also happens in the competition between the two Haredi radio stations - 'Kol Brama' and 'Kol Chai': with a difference of two minutes between them, and a gap of 3.5% ratings, the Rizal twins become competitors.
Shlomi and Mandi Rizel are twin brothers, 29 years old, Chabad Hasidim, born in the Chabad housing complex in Lod.
In recent days, the news department of Kol Hai Radio has added journalist Shloimi Rizel to its ranks. Rizel, who has worked for the past five years in the press and publishing department of the Yad Laachim organization and is responsible for many of the organization's successful publications, and who previously wrote for years for the weekly Kfar Chabad and Sha'a Tova, will serve as the radio's Arab and foreign affairs correspondent.
All this while his 'younger' brother Mandy, a local news editor for the 'Kav Yar'ash network and a member of the editorial board of the 'Stur'em' website, serves as a military affairs correspondent for 'Kol Berama'.
But it's not just in the professional field that the two walk together all the way: they also made the wedding episode as close as possible and married two cousins.
While Mandy, a resident of the city of Sderot, married the daughter of the Chabad emissary in Sderot, Rabbi Ze'ev Pizem, Shloimi, a resident of the city of Lod, married his cousin - the daughter of the Chabad emissary in Ofakim, Rabbi Yisrael Hershkowitz.
Mandy, will you compete?
""I'm happy for him and I'm sure he'll go far. Shlomi is a brilliant guy, knowledgeable and with a 'big head.' Kol Chai has gained a first-rate professional. Of course, his work there does not cloud our relationship in the slightest. Since our topics are not parallel, I don't feel any competition.".
Shloimi, will you be able to defend yourself?
""We don't feel like competitors, but rather partners in the journey. These are different jobs that are not parallel. The idea came from a friend who worked at Kol Hai radio - and it sounded far-fetched, but after I considered the issue and with Mendy's encouragement, the idea came to me with God's help. We wholeheartedly support each other.".
