After the budget is transferred: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Sunday) marked the next goal - the fight against the cost of living.

Netanyahu instructed the government secretary to bring a proposal for a resolution to establish a ministerial committee that would examine ways to lower the cost of living - and to submit it at the next meeting: "I will head this committee; the fight against the cost of living is at the top of our government's national priority list.".

The Prime Minister said in his opening remarks: "Last week we passed the two-year budget and the Arrangements Law. This is an important step for economic stability and the fight against the cost of living. This is a first step.".

""I have instructed the Cabinet Secretary to bring to the next cabinet meeting a proposal for a resolution to establish a ministerial committee to combat the cost of living. I will head this committee, together with the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Economy, other ministers and professional bodies.".

He added: "I ask the ministerial committee to bring me a work plan with a detailed and clear timetable for the fight against the cost of living by all means, including: encouraging competition, lowering tariffs, and breaking monopolies. The fight against the cost of living is at the top of our government's national priority list. We will act with determination and strength to lower prices in all areas. I am convinced that by working together, with the budget we passed and with the reforms in the Arrangements Law, we will succeed in curbing the cost of living and helping all citizens of Israel.".

He continued: "In addition, we will establish a ministerial committee today to address the needs of the Ethiopian community in Israel. This is a continuation of the ministerial committees that I established in the governments in which I served as prime minister, which focused on the needs of the community and brought important achievements. I am aware that there are more challenges, but this committee is the instrument to continue to advance our brothers and sisters, the sons and daughters of the Ethiopian community in Israel. I know that I will receive cooperation from all ministries, as has been the case until now.".

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said at the entrance to the government meeting: "This is an important day, a day when we are putting forward a proposal in favor of IDF soldiers, that Zionism will be a guiding value. This is how we will strive to develop the Galilee, to develop the Negev.".

Ben Gvir added: "I hear that there are all kinds of voices that want to oppose this thing. Those who oppose our decision-making proposal, those who oppose our statement that Zionism will be a guiding value, those who oppose our statement in favor of IDF soldiers, are in fact turning themselves into opponents of Zionism. I very, very much hope that we don't hear such voices.".
