A surprise at the Likud activists' conference held tonight (Monday) in Petah Tikva ahead of Rosh Hashanah: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed MK Moshe Feiglin publicly for the first time.
Since being elected to the current Knesset, Feiglin has attacked the prime minister many times, but tonight - perhaps in anticipation of the approaching New Year - all is forgiven.
Netanyahu introduced the Knesset members and ministers who were sitting on the stage, in front of the hundreds of activists who came to participate in the event, and when he reached MK Feiglin, he complimented him: "He brings completely new audiences to the Likud, this man is full of surprises, and they are good ones. I appreciate that.".
There has been tension between Feiglin and Netanyahu for many years, which included attempts by the prime minister to prevent him from being elected to the Knesset on the Likud list.
For example, in the Likud primaries ahead of the previous Knesset elections, Feiglin was elected in 20th place, but a petition submitted to the Likud Elections Committee succeeded in pushing him to the unrealistic 36th place.
