4 dead, including a toddler and a 3-year-old girl, in a serious car accident at the Urim intersection

Four people, including a one-and-a-half-year-old baby and a three-year-old girl, were killed today (Monday) in a car accident between two vehicles at the Urim Junction in the south.

The other two fatalities are a man and a woman in their 40s.

A 30-year-old woman was evacuated by helicopter to Soroka Hospital with serious injuries. Another man was slightly injured.

Paramedics Eden Milman and Shimon Maman said: "This is a very serious accident. We saw overturned vehicles on the side of the road, and in one of the vehicles were trapped five injured people, two toddlers aged three and one and a half, and a man and a woman in their 40s. They had no signs of life, and after the rescue we were forced to declare them dead.

""A woman in her 30s who was trapped in the back of the vehicle was fully conscious, seriously injured, treated at the scene and evacuated to the hospital by MDA helicopter. Another injured person was treated at the scene and evacuated to the hospital in a minor condition.".

"מדובר בזירה קשה מאד בין שני כלי רכב. מעוצמת ההתנגשות אחד הרכבים התהפך ונוסעיו נלכדו עם פגיעות קשות. לאחר שהם חולצו מהרכב פארמדיקים של מד"א נאלצו לאשר את מותם של 4 מנוסעי הרכב ביניהם שני  פעוטות, גבר ואשה". מתנדבי זק"א בזירה טיפלו בכבודם של ההרוגים ובממצאים בזירה. נסיבות התאונה בחקירת המשטרה.
