
Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and Transportation Minister Miri Regev resigned from the Knesset today (Monday) under Norwegian law.
In place of Minister Eli Cohen, Osher Shekalim, a representative from the Tel Aviv district, 48 years old, a resident of Holon, the son of parents born in Iran, will enter the Knesset.
Miri Regev will be replaced by former Knesset member Kati Sheetrit, who is ranked 39th on the Likud list.
Regev said: "A few minutes ago, I implemented the Norwegian law in front of Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and vacated my seat in the Knesset for my friend Kati Sheetrit.
""I am happy to introduce my friend Kati Sheetrit to the Knesset. Kati Sheetrit has been and will continue to be an excellent parliamentarian who works and promotes important social issues in the State of Israel, and I am certain that she will continue to act and influence in the Israeli Knesset.
""I head a large social and economic ministry that operates around the clock, and I am committed to the transportation challenges and tasks that face us. I call on the ministers to implement the Norwegian law and allow the other members of the list to enter the Knesset. God willing, we will do it and succeed.".
