The Traffic Division's Road Clearance Unit rescued 14 vehicles that were stuck in the Golan Heights due to the stormy weather today (Wednesday), including 11 private vehicles, 2 commercial vehicles and a bus with 40 tourists. Following the stormy weather and the snow that fell in the Golan Heights, several roads in the Golan Heights were closed yesterday (Tuesday) out of concern for the safety of road users. However, the Traffic Division's control center received a report of vehicles that were stuck on a blocked road, including a bus carrying 40 tourists. Golan Station police officers, with the assistance of the jeep unit, assisted the Traffic Division's Road Clearance Unit in rescuing the passengers to a safe place. In total, 5 rescue teams were dispatched to the scene and rescued and towed 13 vehicles. It should be noted that the bus in which the tourists were traveling slid to the side of the road and went into a side slope into a ditch adjacent to the road. Because of this, there was a fear that it would overturn. Police officers from the Golan Station of the Northern District and the Golan Jeep Unit rescued the bus passengers to Kibbutz El-Rom. Volunteers from the Roadside Evacuation Unit arrived at the scene and worked for nearly an hour to extricate and tow the bus to safety.
