Detectives from the Bnei Brak police station arrested a 20-year-old man from Bnei Brak yesterday (Sunday) after he was found in possession of counterfeit money. The arrest was made after investigators from the Bnei Brak police station opened an investigation, following information about the distribution of counterfeit money. As part of the investigation, detectives conducted a search yesterday with a court warrant on Abarbanel Street in Bnei Brak. During the search, various types of credit cards, NIS 118,600 in cash in counterfeit NIS 200 bills and an additional NIS 1,180 in cash in non-counterfeit bills, 5 cell phones and lists of clients suspected of purchasing the counterfeit bills were located and seized at the scene. The 20-year-old suspect was arrested for questioning at the Bnei Brak police station on suspicion of possession and counterfeiting of a banknote and conspiracy to commit a crime - at the end of which he was imprisoned. This morning, his arrest was extended by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for an additional four days. The investigation is ongoing.
